Avec le départ Brandon Jacobs, certains y voient une opportunité.
Notamment, Mike Tolbert, le powerback des San Diego Chargers qui est aujourd’hui à la recherche d’une nouvelle équipe et se dit très intéressés par les Giants:
“They’ve got a dynamic quarterback that puts the ball all over the field. He checks the ball down a lot to his running backs, which is something that I think I do very well is catching the ball out of the backfield. And then they had that 1-2 punch with [Ahmad] Bradshaw and [Brandon] Jacobs and without Jacobs there that kind of leaves a hole in the offense. »
Tolbert serait une option intéressante (4 yards par portée, 121 portées, 490 yards et 8 TD) pour remplacer Jacobs bien que plus petit (5-9 contre 6-4) et plus léger (243 contre 264). Mais il est aussi plus jeune que Jacobs. Cependant, Tolbert n’est pas à la recherche d’un petit contrat et les Giants ont des besoins plus pressants que RB.
J’ai personnellement du mal à voir cette transaction se réaliser. Sauf si bien sûr les Giants trouvent un moyen de libérer beaucoup de masse salariale. Mais avant tout il faudra s’occuper de postes plus importants.
